Simple Sites on the Susquehanna
A trip home to Lancaster, Pa. to rally my dad through a heart scare opened my eyes to Amish country minus the buggies.
From the miles of evergreens to the sprawling fresh corn, the ride on back roads gave me a sense of peace and tranquility. Meandering creeks led to the mighty Susquehanna River.
Sculptures of electric and wind power guarded the mouth of the waterway. Just around the river-bend vintage cottages and grand retreats dotted the banks of the summer playground.
Dad's health report is ok now. The trip was just a reminder to relax and soak in the simple joys around us.
